Belvedere-Tiburon Labor Day Parade
Ready to Hit the Streets!
On Sunday, August 31, starting near the Tiburon Library at the corner of Tiburon Boulevard and Mar West Street, and ending at Belvedere Park for the final Concert in the Park Event, the 2008 Labor Day Parade will live bands, antique cars, creative floats and entries from your favorite organizations.
Staging will begin at 1:30 pm along Lagoon Road. The Parade entries will pull out onto Tiburon Boulevard at approximately 2:30 pm. Lagoon Road will reopen to thru traffic at about 2:45 pm.
Bring the family and enjoy the fun! If you or your organization would like to join the parade, or if you have an antique car you want to show off, contact Parade Chair Marissa Miller for an entry form at miller_marissa@yahoo.com or call her at 225-1431.
Another way to get involved is to sponsor an incredible "ballon vest" and add more color and excitement to the event. You can also advertise your business (by wearing a T-shirt or a sign while walking in the parade). Contact Joan Palmero for details at jpalmero@ci.tiburon.ca.us or 435-7373.
Volunteers are also needed! If you are available on the day of the parade, or in the weeks before the parade, the Committee needs both adult and teen volunteers to be parade marshals, decorate floats, and hand out supplies. Contact volunteer coordinator Joan Barth at JoanBarth@aol.com for more information. This is a great way for your teen to earn community service hours for school.
